America: Land of Sue Happy Freaks

America has become so completely sue happy that we have attained a level I never thought possible: Bringing suit against the Blue M&M.

Apparently, the Naked Cowboy of Times Square is suing Mars for violating his trademark in a recent ad featuring the Blue M&M in similar cowboy gear.

This is on top of the disgrace of a lawsuit last week brought against Victoria's Secret for being injured by a thong. Apparently a little jewel piece flew off and hit her in the eye while she was putting the thong on. (Yet she will not bring the thong into court as evidence.)

What is wrong with this country that we feel the need to take everyone and everything to court for any little inconvenience that we experience? Is it really worth the time and effort...not to mention money spent if you lose your case?

Parents Losing Their Rights...

After reading the following article, I am absolutely enraged... (details to follow)

12-Year-Old Grounded for Too Much Internet Use Gets Punishment Overturned in Court
Thursday, June 19, 2008

A Canadian court has overturned a father's punishment for his daughter after she refused to stay off the Internet, his attorney said Wednesday.

The girl, 12, took her father to Quebec Superior Court after he refused to allow her to go on a school trip for chatting on Web sites and then posting "inappropriate" pictures of herself online using a friend's computer, AFP reported.

The punishment was for the girl's "own protection," according to the father's attorney, Kim Beaudoin, who is appealing the ruling.

"She's a child," Beaudoin told AFP. "At her age, children test their limits and it's up to their parent to set boundaries. I started an appeal of the decision today to reestablish parental
authority, and to ensure that this case doesn't set a precedent."

This is getting out of control. I am sick to death of the government (in any country in this case) taking away the rights of parents.

Kids like this make me sick. She took her dad to court because he said "No more internet or school trip" because she got caught posted what are most likely naked or half naked photos of herself on the internet where any pedophile can see and was acting innappropriately?

He acted as any father SHOULD and I am proud of his decision and that he didn't turn a blind eye to her actions. My parents would have done the same thing.

And that judge should be absolutely ashamed of herself!!!! He acted for the safety of his child and she says the punishment was harsh? It's not like he let's say (refering to recent history) tied his child to a tree, locked her in a cage and starved her, put her on a hook on a door and whipped her (that happened in my town), or took her out on a rural road and stomped her to death.

This makes me sick to my stomach and gives me anxiety. Am I not going to be allowed to tell my son what he can and cannot do when it comes to his safety and well being? Because TRUST ME...if I catch Jordan acting up on the internet when he is old enough IT WILL BE TAKEN AWAY. And other privilages will be lost until he can earn my trust back. And no judge will stop me!!!!!!

I GAVE BIRTH TO HIM. No court will EVER tell me how to raise my child when I KNOW I am not harming him in any way! And especially will not stop me from protecting him.

Kids these days have no concept of how truely dangerous the internet and other technologies are. They have no sense of shame and what is right, wrong, and age appropriate.

It is disgraceful. We are failing our children. It is time to take back control...
