Penny Pritzker: Another Joker in the Obama Deck

Yesterday, February 20, 2008, on Flashpoints Radio (Stream/podcast Link), an investigative report into Penny Pritzker, the Obama campaign finance chairman. She and her family were central to the innovation known as "Mortgage Backed Securities," which are now at the center of the financial crisis and real estate melt down.

Pritzker is one of the most active of celebrated Chicago patriarch Abraham N. Pritzker's 12 living grandchildren. A Harvard-trained attorney, Pritzker, 46, was chosen by her late uncle Jay to help oversee the family's vast portfolio of investments, including the Hyatt hotel chain and the Marmon Group industrial conglomerate. (Forbes Lists 2005)

One reason we don't hear the Clinton campaign raising this as an issue is because Penny's brother has apparently been playing a spokes-person role in Hillary's campaign. Reminds me of Enron buying off both Republicans and Democrats, along with accounting firms, the media, law firms, regulators, ....

Don't get me wrong. After Edwards dropped out I shifted my support to Obama, in as much as I support dismalcrats. But, if Barak Obama was smart, he'd thank her for her services and quietly let Penny Pritzker go.

As of today, Google search of Penny Pritzker Obama generates 9,700 hits. Expect that number to grow over the coming months. But today, you are led to comments on Nation Magazine article entitled "Subprime Obama" - Letters (article link in Sources below. One comment begins as follows:

One reason Barack Obama might not want to talk about the role of financially irresponsible bank board members in creating the subprime mortgage foreclossure financial disaster is that the national finance chair of Obama's campaign, Penny Pritzker, is a former board member of the failed Superior Bank S&L that engaged in irresponsible subprime mortgage lending during the 1990s.

Apparently Penny was into subprime lending before it became all the rage starting in around 2000. It continues:

Penny Prtizker's chairmanship was apparently "to concentrate on subprimelending, principally on home mortgages, but for a while in subprime auto lending, too," after the Pritzkers' bank acquired its wholesale mortgage organization division, Alliance Funding, in December 1992.

Back then they called it "predatory lending."

What else does Google dish up? Penny's contribution record. There are rumors she gives to republicans, and it's true. She gave $1,000 to both John McCain and George W. Bush in the 1999 primary. She also gave money to McCain for Senate in 1998. She also gave money to Barack Obama for his failing House bid in 1999. She gave to Bill Frist, Rudi Giuliani's exploratory fund, and several other Republicans in 2000. $4,000 to Joe Lieberman in 2006 (he's practically a Republican). Dennis Hastert in 2006, 2003. You get the idea. Our Noble Obama's campaign finance chair likes to spread money around. Grease the wheels so to speak. She's a billionaire. Woman of the people (NOT).

Impressive list goes back to 1987. Don't you love the internet? That's why net neutrality is so important.

Now that I've whet your appetite, dig a little and leave your comments below.

My Heart Belongs to the US Military

Today, my son's father is signed his enlistment papers and was sworn into the United States Army. (We are not together, but are best friends). He is leaving for basic training on November 4th.

It is going to take a great deal of strength to help him through this and help my son through this as he begins to grow and understand that his daddy is not around very much.

My son's paternal uncle is also in the Army. He is overseas and has yet to meet his nephew because he deployed around the time my son was born back in January. He comes home at the end of October.

I found out today, my brother's best friend returns from Iraq on October 30. He is in the Air Force, as is my brother who will serve his second tour of duty in January. My best friend's brother will return from overseas (also an Air Man) in January or February.

My dear and sweet friend of mine is also stationed in Afghanistan and will not return until next August. He deployed last April. Another is in Kuwait. He just deployed.

Those I love most and care about best in this world (besides my son of course) are all great Americans. They are heroes. They are incredible and loving people who love their country. More importantly, they recognize that they stand for something larger than themselves and they love what they do every day. They are proud to serve America.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to honor them and their duty.

May God bless and watch over them and every other soldier that serves in the name of our country.

Dr. Marc Lamont Hill=World's Biggest Hypocrit!

I thought you were a Ph.D. Dr. Hill?

This is hypocrisy at its absolute finest.

I am against bailing out the people who were either tricked into these horrible sub-prime mortgages or knowingly purchased homes they knew they could not afford long term. I am against bailing out these banks that tried to create a facade in the housing market and deceived and basically screwed Americans.

However, to say that Republicans can learn a little bit about responsibility here is assinine when in the same breath, Dr. Hill claims that he is all for helping a man who WILLFULLY drops out of high school, works a dead end job, and has children to multiple women that he cannot possibly care for.

I ask Dr. Hill this...WHY should I or any other American have to care for AN IRRESPONSIBLE MAN who has NO motivation to better himself's children? Why should I have to pay for HIS housing?

I have my own child to raise. I work hard. I worked hard to get an education so that I can have a good life. It was not handed to me. My parent's couldn't afford to pay for everything, but helped me to the best of their ability. But my parents taught me not to go looking for handouts. They overcame their challenges. I am overcoming mine.

Maybe Democrats could learn a lesson from RESPONSIBLE Americans like myself. There are MILLIONS of Americans out there JUST like me. Just like you. We work hard. We take care of our families. When life seems to grow dark and there is no sign of light in sight, we grab a flashlight and work our way through our problems. I cannot conceive of having to rely on others to take care of my son financially. I cannot believe that there is that large of a lack of motivation in people that they do not strive to give their children the best life possible.

But Dr. Hill, and those like him, expect for the rest of America to bail them out because it is "society's" fault that black men leave their children.

I have news for Dr. Hill. BOTH of my WHITE parent's fathers left them as young children. I have NEVER met either of my grandfathers. They wouldn't know their fathers if they were right in front of their faces. We don't know if they are even alive.

But my father is a good man and he didn't turn around and do that to us. He grew up poor, had a rough life. But he doesn't use it as an excuse to be lazy. He used it as determination to break that cycle and create his own success.

And no one had to bail him out...not to take care of my brothers and mother and I, not to pay an irresponsibly purchased home. (And I'm sure it wasn't ONLY Republicans who took out those loans.)

Everyone in this country has a choice to make at every corner of their lives. I am not about to pay for a lifetime of a person's bad decision making skills.

Do we see this from the right?

The deeper into this election we get, the more hideous things I hear from the mouths of Hollywood Elites that are digging around in Obama's back pocket. And I ask of you, do we see this kind of vulgarity from the right?

Here are some examples for you:

Sandra Bernhard on Sarah Palin:
"Now you got Uncle Women, like Sarah Palin, who jumps on the s--t and points her fingers at other women. Turncoat b---h! Don’t you f--kin’ reference Old Testament, b-tch! You stay with your new Goyish crappy shiksa funky bulls--t! Don’t you touch my Old Testament, you b---h! Because we have left it open for interpre-ta-tion! It is no longer taken literally! You whore in your f--kin' cheap New Vision cheap-a$$ plastic glasses and your [sneering voice] hair up. A Tina Fey-Megan Mullally brokedown bulls--t moment.

Here is what type of reviews she got for this smut:
"Comedienne delivers enraged optimism." Barbara Mackay claimed "in the end, oddly and subtly, Bernhard’s message is positive."

What part of ANY of that was POSITIVE? I know which parts were completely out of line, disgusting, and heinous. Yay! Rape is funny! (Are you kidding me?)

Now onto Rosanne Barr:
"Your evil spawn Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about $40 million a year in violent, psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children, trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more," Roseanne writes in a post titled "Jon Voight."

She also attacks the actress for recently saying she is undecided about the presidential election.

"Miss Jolie says she likes [John] McCain too and hasn't decided who to endorse....huh? Aren't you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the African daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the Republican party's worldwide economic assault on Africa over the last few decades since Reagan?"

She claims that Jolie's "Thai and Vietnamese sons" are also "victims of America's right-wing military incursions too."

Roseanne writes that "it might be good for your Asian and African children's self-esteem to know you support" Barack Obama, a man of color, "for the leader of the free world."

She signs off: "Now go back to making your movies about women who love to handle big guns that shoot hundreds of people to death."

So now we are attacking a woman who simply does her job of ACTING and raising beautiful children whom she took in to give better lives because she is NOT getting political? Oh and telling her how to raise her children. Real cute.

Matt Damon on Palin:
"The hockey mom, you know, 'Oh, I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska,' and she's the president and facing down Vladimir Putin using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It's absurd. I don't understand why more people aren't talking about how absurd it is."

Madonna on McCain:
Amid a four-act show at Cardiff's packed Millennium Stadium, a video interlude carried images of destruction, global warming, Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, Zimbabwe's authoritarian President Robert Mugabe — and U.S. Senator John McCain. Another sequence, shown later, pictured slain Beatle John Lennon, followed by climate activist Al Gore, Mahatma Gandhi and finally McCain's Democratic rival Barack Obama.

Pamela Anderson on Palin:
"She can suck it."

And so can you Pam...I believe that is what you are most noted for.

And I've already posted Lindsay Lohan's ever so intelligent rant.

Chevy Chase on Palin:
"I thought it was extraordinary how well she played her and much she looked like her. I'd just like her — personally I felt we didn't need the Hillary stuff — I'd like her to go even harder," the former "SNL" star told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show.
"I want her to decimate this woman. This woman is, I can't believe there hasn't been more about it. ... It's just unbelievable to me this woman is actually running for vice president," he continued.

And then Susan Sarandon:
Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon says "anywhere but here" if Republican John McCain wins November's election. She says she will "be checking out a move to Italy. Maybe Canada, I don't know. We're at an abyss."

Hey Susan: I'll buy your one way ticket.

Joy Behar of The View LOVED Sarandon's stand on this:
JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, ABC'S "THE VIEW": Susan and her husband, Tim Robbins, are two of the most patriotic Americans that we have in the media. And they stuck their neck out in the beginning when it was very unpopular to speak out against the war and against the Bush administration.

Patriotic? How is this patriotic? They love their country so much they will throw a tantrum and pack up and leave and then come back when someone they like is running the show instead of trying to evoke change theirselves.

When do we hear such utterly disgraceful and appalling comments from the right? Who on the right in Hollywood, the MSM, or citizens of the U.S. are out making these types of remarks that really have ZERO political substance?

Remember when you go to the polls in November what type of people are backing Barack Obama...His associations to date do not speak well of him.

Since when is Lindsay Lohan an expert on anything?

Lindsay Lohan Blasts Palin on Blog

Monday, September 15, 2008
Lindsay Lohan and her all-but-confirmed girlfriend Samantha Ronson are the latest Hollywood celebrities to take aim at Republican vice presidential hopeful Gov. Sarah Palin, bashing the candidate on homosexuality and other issues Sunday on Lohan's MySpace blog.
"I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin," Lohan writes, urging people to vote for Sen. Barack Obama. "Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?"

Lohan included a portion of an Associated Press story stating that Palin's Wasilla, Alaska, church was promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer.

"Is our country so divided that the Republicans' best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?" she asks.

Lohan also blasts Palin on abortion (Palin is pro-life).

"Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies ... and it's frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that," she writes.

Lohan also urges Palin to know her place — "Don't pose for anymore tabloid covers, you're not a celebrity" — and even quotes Pamela Anderson:

"In the words of Pamela Anderson, 'She can suck it,'' she writes.

In other Lohan news, the actress was heading into The Bowery Hotel in New York City Sunday night when she tripped over a metal barricade, TMZ reports. Lohan seems to have thought that a paparazzo tripped her — because she turned around and punched a photographer in the nose, the Web site says. Cops were called to the scene, but no charges were made.

Excuse me, Ms. Lohan. But what makes you an authority on who we should vote for? What makes you an authority to speak on anything other than sex, alcohol, DUIs, rehab, flashing you privates, cocaine, driving stolen vehicles and wrecking them, and now add misdemeanor assault?

Not ALL women have fought to kill their children in the womb. So speaking on behalf of all women is a pretty bold statement for ANYONE to make.

And her rhetoric is so intelligently worded! I don't believe any of us should be listening to people whom tell a respected Governor to "Suck it."

Also, Governor Palin hasn't posed for tabloids. Ms. Lohan should know better than most that photographers just take your picture and post it where they please. And Sarah Palin didn't pose for the cover of US Weekly. That was a smear article. Who ever said she was trying to be a celebrity? Oh but Barrack Obama...now it was okay for HIM to be on US Weekly is a nice article about how much his wife loves him. His celebrity status is fine.

Maybe Ms. Lohan feels threatened that Governor Palin is getting better reviews than her last movie...jealous much?

McCain in Wedding Crashers?

I watched Wedding Crashers last night for about the millionth time and I swear I saw John McCain in a cameo (playing a Senator of course). At the beginning of the movie when the Cleary family are greeting guests into the church, Jane Seymour's character is greeting a Senator and then Rachel McAdam's character is talking to the same Senator and I SWEAR it is John McCain!

Anyone else agree???

KKK Biding their time...

I may not want Obama to be President...but I most CERTAINLY do NOT condone this kind of behavior and threats.

It is absolutely terrifying to the core that people like this still exist and in record numbers!

I had a conversation maybe back in June with a good friend and I said the hate groups and the KKK are biding their time...they've been too silent through all this.

Kinda like the quiet before the storm...I firmly believe if Obama is POTUS the storm will come and march on Washington and it will be one unlike anything we have ever seen before.

50 cent won't vote for Obama because he said himself he'll get assissinated!

Besides the point though, groups like this MUST be stopped. It is sickening. Absolutely sickening. And the biggest problem of all is that some of these people live right next door and you would never know...

My 9/11/01

I posted part of this in response to Hugh Hewitt but thought I would make record of it also...

It was my freshman year of college and I was at a satellite campus of the University of Pittsburgh out pretty much in the middle of nowhere...The planes hit while I was in my algebra class. It was my only class that day until 1. So I went back from class to my dorm to get a few more hours sleep before lunch and Bio lab.

By 11:00 people were pounding on my roommate and I's door screaming for us to wake up and turn on the news.

One of the planes crashed just a few miles down the road is the neighboring town on Shanksville...hard to swallow on top of the fact that I was just learning of the other chaos and buildings hit all at the same time.

I never made it to Bio Lab. Classes were suspended and the town was on lockdown. I couldn't even leave campus to drive anywhere. Even home.

I made friends that day in our moment of fear that I otherwise never would have met. Kids walked into town to the local Army and Marine recruiters and were gone the next semester in basic training. They knew war was coming and they wanted in on it. Other kids found ways to sneak out and join the volunteer firefighters in Shanksville in a recovery effort that simply didn't exist.

To all the people whom gave their time, their compassion, and some of them their lives in rescue efforts at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the brave heroes on Flight 93 whom gave their lives to save the lives of others, thank you. And to the innocent victims and your families you're still in my thoughts.

To President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, General David Petreaus, and every single one of our men and women in uniform, thank you for 7 years without an attack on US Soil and for the job you do every day.

Freedom isn't free...but it is certainly worth the fight.

You'll never be forgotten.

No Oprah for Palin

So Obama has been heavily in contact with Oprah both on her television show, radio show, and on the campaign trail. She has made no secret of her endorsement of Obama for President, stating after his acceptance speech that it "Changed my life."

But no Palin for Oprah? Here's why:

"At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

I would be all for Oprah not using her show as a platform for campaigning if she had NOT already done so for Barack Obama.

While I understand that her show is not in the same category as that of The Today Show and other such television day programs that interview politicians, I believe she has a responsibility as a high profile and respected interviewer to present the other candidates to her audience. Obama has sat on Oprah's couch and has been interviewed, along with his wife Michelle, on her radio show. The record of these events is right on Oprah's website.

I find it very convenient that Barack had his moment on the Oprah platform and then suddenly she is against using her show as a means of campaigning. I believe she is missing a great opportunity to show that while she endorses Obama, she is still a woman of power and respects other women of power.

Oprah is proud to have a black candidate, but as one of the most powerful women in the world, she is missing another historic moment. Oprah came up from nothing and Palin came up a normal, small town girl and is opening doors for women that have not been opened before. That is something to be respected, all politics aside.

I personally will never watch Oprah again. And I can't wait to see Sarah Palin and John McCain on her show after they win the election. *Fingers crossed for the win.*

But I won't hold my breath for their invite to Oprah's couch...

P-Diddy=Moron of the Week Award Winner

Alaska? Are we serious?

Yeah "Diddy". We're serious.

And newsflash: There is a higher black population in Alaska than their is in the town you live in in New Jersey!!

What does it matter how many black people are in Alaska?? I am sick of the black America/white America crap these people keep throwing at us. There is ONE America and YOU are dividing it and keep it divided racially all on your own!

And to quote a good friend of mine: Martin Luther King Jr. would be SO proud of you Diddy for coming out looking so intelligent and well spoken!

Thank you for making your party look even more ignorant and stupid than they have already managed to do this week by attacking a 17 year old girl and fabricating lies about a 4 month old. Oh, and for setting your race back 100 years.

Gee...no one is voting for Obama for his race...only because he is "qualified." Diddy proves otherwise...

Key point of Palin's Speech:

"But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people."

That right there said it all. It was a Bush moment...he isn't in Washington to impress anyone or have high approval ratings. He is there to make the tough decisions that are in the best interest of this country and that is exactly what we need. Palin brought it last night and will bring in once in office!

She made me so proud to be an American woman last night.

A Profound Statement

I just told my dad about the wonderful smear tactics of the Daily Kos and their accusing Sarah Palin as passing off Trig as her son when it is Bristol's child. We agreed that there is no bottom to what these people will say and do to get attention and just when you think they found a bottom they dig another level.

Anyway, my dad said "If Trig is Sarah's grandson, so what? They kept the baby in the family. They didn't kill it, they didn't give him away, they didn't abort it. They kept him in the family and are loving him like family should."

Different way of looking at it, not that we believe one thing the Daily Kos has to say...
