If there is one thing that I have learned from Sonia Sotomayor and the liberal lemmings on Capitol Hill and in Hollywood, it is that it's okay to be a racist if white people are on the receiving end.
Last night on Hannity, actor/comedian Tom Arnold did his best to justify white people deserving to be discriminated against after all the years of slavery and racism against blacks and hispanics. While Tom may harbor white guilt (or maybe he is just trying to look good in front of the rest of the Kool-aid drinkers), I feel no guilt for actions that I 1. had no part in and 2. my family had no part in. Even if my family had been slave owners, I cannot control what happened two hundred years prior to my existance. So why should I feel guilty for what relatives that I never knew did?
I shouldn't. I live my life treating others as I wish to be treated to the best of my ability. I do not believe in affirmative action, but in earning your keep and creating your own success. I don't want to receive preferential treatment simply because I am a woman. What knowledge do we obtain if we are handed jobs and higher education that we did not show the will to achieve on our own? Are we not doing a complete injustice to people if we throw them into an experience that is beyond their realm of comprehension?
That goes for people of any race or gender. Are we not punishing the people that fought for their success by throwing people ahead of them in line that didn't want the job or the education bad enough to do the work to be qualified for it?
The left can spin it anyway they want, but the firefighters in the case that Sotomayor presided over got royally screwed. I still do not understand how a test was discriminatory toward minorities if it was a job related test. A test for a promotion should be based on knowledge of the job. If you don't know the job, then you don't deserve the promotion, especially in a line of duty where lives are at stake.
If you didn't see Hannity last night, find a video of it on Youtube. The Great American Panel seriously made me want to vomit. It made me sick to see a grown man sit there and justify ten times over why it is okay for white people to be discriminated against. We deserve it and earned it according to the left.
It's time to set aside "white guilt" and make everyone, every last American earn their dollar.
What ever happened to "All Men are Created Equal"?
