Where exactly is Madame Speaker hiding the Swastikas?

I am appalled. I don't even know at this point if appalled is the right word. My feelings the past few weeks have been changing at a rate that is beginning to make me believe I am suffering from some sort of mental illness. Maybe I have too much norepinephrine or something. (Google it. Better yet, go to the library.)

I began at upset, moved into angry and onto stunned. Now I am so completely disgusted by this government machine that it's all I can do to STOP reading the blogs and turn off the news.

 But no...I'm sucked in.

I was about to put my son to bed last night when I heard from the tv in the next room Madame Speaker utter words that I simply could NOT believe. People at the Townhalls and Tea Parties had SWASTIKAS?

Riddle me this, Madame Speaker: WHICH town hall or tea party? Just name me one. There is a whole internet out there of photos and video footage. Just pick one and show me the Swastika.

 I'll wait.

But no. It didn't end there.

Then came the DNC's latest piece of anti-grassroots, anti-free speech, anti-American propaganda. Perhaps you are familiar with this little diddy:

I was actually amused the first time that me, and the rest of the tea party goers were accused of being domestic terrorists. (I'm sure the Veterans were just as amused...Secretary Napolitano. How's that apology coming, by the way?) Have we graduated to angry mob or been downgraded to angry mob?

I've attended two Tea Parties now (and helped organize one) and witnessed an AIG protest. I didn't see anyone wearing Brooks Brothers. I also didn't see any buses. I did, however, see a lot of people from the community. I met some incredibly nice people. I saw people from my high school and colleges (some that I was frankly shocked to see). I saw parents and their children.

But most of all, I saw people being RESPECTFUL. I saw people coming together PEACEFULLY to express their displeasure with their representatives NOT REPRESENTING THEM.

How dare the government tell us that we don't know what is good for us. How dare they accuse YOU of being a terrorist or of being paid off or rallied up by some insurance company. WE sign THEIR paychecks.

Hannity had a caller, Chica, on his radio show today. She was one of his regular liberal callers. Her beef: the disruptive GOP lobbyists at the town hall meetings.

She opined that they people were being disrespectful and wouldn't listen to the debate and add anything constructive.

Here's my response to Chica: These so called "representatives" were there to SELL their product. They claim they were there to "debate" but there cannot be a debate if the opposition doesn't have the opportunity to speak. The DNC is TERRIFIED. They know that their jobs are in jeopardy, but the problem is at the same time, they don't seem to care. Their job is to vote the way their constituents wish them to vote. But they aren't. They claim that we don't know what's good for us.

How insulting is that? Aren't you completely insulted that some empty suit on the beltway is trying to control your every decision because YOU don't know what is good for you?

In addition to these citizens speaking their minds after sitting at home for MONTHS yelling at their TV, hoping to be heard by someone that they are fed up, let me remind you about the left.

  • Ann Coulter was speaking at a college and the liberal students stormed the stage and threw things at her because they didn't like what she had to say.
  • Alberto Gonzales was shouted down while speaking by World Can't Wait, a Bush hate group, because he (and this is a direct quote from a member of this radical group) "gets to talk all the time. It's our turn to talk."
  • Code Pink stormed into Congress and tried to shout down General David Petreaus as he was giving his assessment on the situation in Iraq.
  • Code Pink terrorized our Marines in Berkeley, California.
  • Code Pink snuck into the RNC convention last summer and tried to shout down John McCain during his acceptance speech.
  • The West Baptist Church is PROTESTING our military's funerals, completely disrespecting our fallen soldiers and their families.
  • ACORN was illegally entering seized homes that were foreclosed on and disrupting home auctions (when they are a part of the reason that people's homes are being foreclosed on to begin with because they just had to have everyone own a home, regardless of their ability to PAY THE MORTGAGE).

The list goes on.

Perfectly acceptable behavior when these ORGANIZED GROUPS want to cause a ruckus.

Sorry that this blog is so all over the place. I haven't had much opportunity to write lately and I have many thoughts just swarming around my head that I had to get out. This is more a rant than anything.

Thanks for listening, as usual!

Incentive #1 to buy into Cash for Clunkers? VIP Parking!

It's obvious to anyone with half a brain what the downfalls of Cash for Clunkers are. Less scrap parts for older vehicles. Less used vehicles to purchase. People buying cars they can't afford... The list goes on.

But have no fear! The econuts have come up with incentive to 'Go Green!' (Lord help me, I hate that phrase.)

Here, I present to you, the best reason to trade in your perfectly good car for a new car that you probably cannot afford anyway:
Photobucket

That's right! Green Vehicle Parking. First 5 spots of the garage...right next to the handicap parking.

These spots are in 3 garages in The South Side Works outdoor shopping and dining area in Pittsburgh. Today, I had to park in one of these garages and was revolted to see these signs. I pulled into the garage and low and behold, a car was pulling out in one of the first spots. Woo hoo for me! Or so I thought. I went to pull in, only to see this sign on display.

Seriously?

Yeah, seriously.

So, I pulled out and drove a few more levels up, only to pull in next to the car that had originally been in that spot, the owner also disgusted by what he had pulled into the Green Spot to discover.

Now, explain to me how this is fair? I have a CHRYSLER vehicle that I just paid off (so it's a fairly new car...only 55,000 miles on it). I've never had a problem with it. I get decent gas mileage. Oh! And I just had to give Chrysler additional money to help bail them out!

BUT...because my car isn't considered "green enough," I have to park in the upper levels of the lot and haul my young child back down through the garage to the street.

Consider this for me now, if you will.

One of the last times that I drove into town to work, it took me 30 minutes in rush hour to get out of the parking garage! Thirty minutes of IDLING through 5 levels of parking lot in my morally reprehensible vehicle. Wouldn't it make more sense for the sake of the environment to make the GREEN vehicles park further away from the lot entrance/exit?

I'm just sayin...
